# Edit with LazyReel

Use the connected LazyReel MCP server. Keep LazyReel open with the intended project active.

## Workflow

1. Read app status, active project, timeline, transcript availability, brand kit, and current selection. Read sample frames only when visual judgment is needed.
2. Translate the request into an outcome, target duration and aspect, story or pacing constraints, visual treatment, audio treatment, and anything that must stay unchanged.
3. If essential input is missing, ask one focused question. Otherwise continue with explicit assumptions.
4. For a multi-part edit, create one coherent plan with `plan_edits` or the relevant built-in prompt. Do not apply a chain of disconnected edits that can drift apart.
5. Show the user the proposed outcome, meaningful tradeoffs, paid operations, and permissions needed. Let LazyReel present the final in-app review.
6. Apply only the approved plan. Wait for jobs to finish, then inspect the resulting duration, aspect, timeline layers, caption coverage, and audio coverage.
7. Keep the returned undo token until the user accepts the result.

## Editing judgment

- Protect meaning and natural speech before chasing a shorter duration.
- Open with the strongest complete hook, not a sentence fragment.
- Use B-roll and motion to clarify important ideas, not to cover every second.
- Keep captions inside safe areas and apply the active brand kit when one exists.
- Duck music under speech and check for gaps, clipped fades, or accidental restarts.
- Use rights-aware stock results and retain source metadata.

Never claim an edit, export, upload, or paid generation completed until LazyReel reports completion. Recording, cloned voice, paid AI, file access, export, and external publishing require their matching permissions and visible user approval.
